The Puerco Valley Fire & EMS District is up and running full-time 24/7 We had a very short gap in service due to some financial issues we notified our surrounding mutual aid partners and our dispatch centers so that no life safety would be threatened. We care about the citizens of Sanders and Surrounding area and those areas of the Navajo Nation we cover. At no time did any call go unanswered. We are back up and running and thank those mutual aid partners that stepped up in this time of need, As your Fire Chief this is never a situation, I wanted to happen, but we had no choice as monies just simply ran out. We have since received some relief from the courts and are glad to be serving the Citizens once again. As I have said before urging your County leaders and Navajo Nation Tribal leaders to not let this happen again and help with funding this public service that is very important to the Sanders community and surrounding 2500 square miles we cover.
